PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element and its manufacturing method as well as an organic EL display capable of attaining high adhesion between an organic layer and an inorganic layer by reducing a residual solvent without detriment to intrinsic characteristics of the organic layer. SOLUTION: In the organic EL element 9 provided with a base plate 1, an electrode layer 2, an organic layer 3, and an electrode layer 4, the organic layer 3 is made to contain a polymer satisfying a formula (1): 20≤Y/(X+Y)×100≤70 [where, X and Y denote the total number of atoms involved in aπbonding and the total number of atoms only involved in aσbonding, respectively, out of a carbon atom, nitrogen atom, oxygen atom, and sulfur atom constituting the polymer.].
