PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the designation of a search path among databases which sequentially extract a search key of another related database and a record with respect to a plurality of databases. SOLUTION: The method comprises arranging databases which can be search targets on a two-dimensional screen in the form of figures, indicating the individual figures with a pointing device, indicating a key database A and a terminal database D from among databases A to F corresponding to the indicated figures, and executes the sequential extraction of a search key and a record in accordance with one or more designated paths out of possible paths 302a and 302b going through other databases between the key database and the terminal database designated on the screen.
