PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an aqueous coating material containing fibrous material by enhancing dispersibility of fibers in the coating material, suppressing bubble attaching due to the mixing of the fibers and improving reduction in extension of a formed coating film caused by mixing the fibers. SOLUTION: This aqueous coating material comprises a binder, a particulate material and fibers as essential components, and contains 0.01-10 wt.% of the fibers per total coating material, wherein the fiber is cellulose acetate fiber with 0.01-10mm length.
