PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for treating dust contained in an exhaust gas from a cement kiln, wherein the amount of dust exhausted outside a system is reduced by separating the dust into a component containing chlorine, alkali, heavy metals, etc., and a component which is recyclable as a cement raw material through a simple means and wherein the chlorine, alkali, heavy metals, etc., are easily extracted. SOLUTION: The dust in the exhaust gas from the cement kiln (5) is classified by a classifier (13), and particulate dust (3a) with a particle size of about≤10μm is recovered while the rest of the dust (3b) is recycled as the cement raw material.
