PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which achieves the higher quality in the appearance of the girth gather part, the reduction in cost and easier application. SOLUTION: The absorbent article (1) (disposable paper diaper 1, 100 or 200) has a top sheet 11 provided on the side of the contact surface with the human body, a back sheet (12 or 210) and an absorbing body (13) interposed to a back side part (16) through a crotch part (17) from a belly side part (15) between the top and back sheets, an elastic member (for example, the first filamentuous elastic member 40) is disposed at width-wise both end parts (121 and 211) of the back sheet to the back side part through the crotch part from the belly side part.
