PAPER FEEDER OF IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PURPOSE: A paper feeder of an image forming apparatus is provided to smoothly supply paper to an image forming unit without having a transfer error even when special paper is used. CONSTITUTION: A paper feeder of an image forming apparatus includes a paper cassette(1) in which plural sheets of papers are stacked, a pick-up roller(2) rotatably set on the paper cassette to pick up paper stacked in the paper cassette, and a feed roller(3) for aligning the front end of the picked paper and transferring the paper. The paper feeder further includes a driver(10) for rotating the pick-up roller and the feed roller in forward and reverse directions, and a pick-up roller rotation delaying unit(20) for temporally stopping the rotation of the pick-up roller whose rotating direction is changed when the feed roller is rotated to transfer paper to reduce a resistance applied to the paper, caused by the pick-up roller, such that the front end of the paper is smoothly introduced into the feed roller.
