PURPOSE: An apparatus for preventing overcompression of a scroll compressor is provided to improve the productivity and reliability of a compressor by increasing assembling efficiency of an exhaust control valve, and improve the efficiency of the compressor by reducing dead volume due to an exhaust hole. CONSTITUTION: A scroll compressor has a fixed scroll and a rotary scroll, and has an exhaust hole formed at an intermediate compression chamber(P) corresponding to a discharge port(6c) of the fixed scroll. An exhaust control valve(12) is slidably inserted into the exhaust hole in an axial direction. In the case of high-pressure ratio operation, the exhaust control valve opens the exhaust hole for discharging part of compressed gas before being discharged. A valve stopper(13) is fixed at an entrance of the exhaust hole for restricting opening of the exhaust control valve.
