PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably reproduce the color tones of a printer in another printer even when coloring materials such as ink or toner are different. SOLUTION: Data transferred from an application 100 (S201) are translated into the printer language of a printer for printing by using a printer driver 120 (S202), and color matching is performed while referring to a color profile 123 designated on a host computer (S203). Those RGB data color-converted by the printer driver 120 are then defined as a printer PR, the RGB data are converted into CMYK data by a K generating part 131 of a printer controller 130 (S204),γconversion and gradation conversion are respectively performed by aγconversion part 132 and a gradation conversion part 133 (S205, S206), and the CMYK data are then sent to a printer engine 134.
