<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the manifold packing construction of a fuel cell that is higher in mechanical characteristics of a packing and reliability, and superior in sealing performance. <P>SOLUTION: When the packing is molded, a reinforcing material such as an aramid fiber or the like is interposed in the packing along a face where the material is put into contact with the manifold. A sealant of liquid fluorocarbon resin-based rubber or fluorine-based paint is applied to a face where the manifold comes into contact with the packing, by which stable sealing performance of a longer life is attained while preventing a fracture of the packing. In addition, in sealing a fuel cell laminate and the manifold by the packing, roundness of a convex portion of the manifold is constituted to be larger than roundness of a concave portion of the packing at the contact face of the packing and the manifold, by which as the sealing performance is improved by making use of outside tensile strength, a problem is solved in the point of matter that sealing can not be maintained due to cracks caused when mechanical strength of the packing is low. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
