<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous body of a metal-ceramic composite material having a communicating hole of which the diameter is 5-50 μm, and to provide a process for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The porous body of the metal-ceramic composite material is manufactured by the procedure comprising the step of (a) preparing a preform with a material containing a carbon fiber and a binder to be carbonized by heating, the step of (b) preparing the composite material by impregnating Si into the preform under non-pressurized conditions and the step of (c) heating the composite material in atmosphere and burning the carbon fiber to form the communicating hole. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
