<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic motor which obviates the need for highly frequently replacing ceramics to be attached to a moving element (or called a "driven body") in contact with a driving element and can prevent abnormal noise which occurs, when an elastic body and the ceramics attached to the moving element contact with each other. <P>SOLUTION: A protective member constituted of ceramics is attached to the contact part of the moving element which contacts with the coupling member of the ultrasonic motor which consists of the moving element and the driving element for the ultrasonic motor, which is equipped with at least two pieces of Langevin type ultrasonic vibrators being equipped with piezoelectric elements, a retaining member for retaining the two pieces of ultrasonic vibrators at a specified angle and the coupling member having a substantially V-shaped form and contacting with the moving element at its vertex and coupled at their ends with the two pieces of ultrasonic vibrators.
