<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which can make display in a layout taking a shield into consideration when the shield exists in front of a display surface. <P>SOLUTION: The display device is equipped with a display element (18) which has a display surface for displaying information, a display shield detector (12) which is interposed between the display surface and an observer (200) viewing the display and detects the display shield (20) for shielding at least part of the display surface from the observer and a display shield region decision section (14) which determines a display shield region (18A) shielded of the display of the display surface based on results detected by the display shield detector 12 and a display layout section (16) which determines the layout of the information according to the display shield region determined by the display shield region decision section and outputs the same to the display element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
