<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-board input device for a vehicle capable of manipulating in good performance even in case the driver takes a relaxed attitude with the elbow put down, as improvement of a conventional arrangement in which the input operation is conducted to a knob movable to fore and aft and to the left and right resulting in a difficulty to manipulate freely in the desired direction only with a finger tip or a palm. <P>SOLUTION: The on-board input device 1 for the vehicle is composed of a sphere 21 to constitute a track ball and a push type switch 22 and a sensing switch 23 arranged around the sphere 21, whereby a string of input motions are made practicable only with a fingertip or a palm, and the manipulation can be conducted in good performance even in case the driver takes a relaxed attitude with the elbow put down to any on-board electronic apparatus appearing in different types, and a feedback function in accordance with the manipulation is added so as to provide assist information to lead to assuring an excellent maneuverability. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
