PURPOSE: A system and a method for managing postal matter reception are provided to enable a post office to reduce time/manpower needed for delivering the unnecessary postal matters and enable a user to receive the postal matter in a short time by making the user inform the post office of absence at an address and making the post office deliver the postal matter to a present residing address of the user. CONSTITUTION: A post office system(300) includes a storing box to keep the postal matter when the user is absent in the address, a storing tool for storing data, and a communication system using the Internet(400). An operator system(100) includes a communication system linked with communication system of the post office system, a post office database, a user database, a postal matter database storing the information for the postal matter kept in the post office, and a management database transmitting the information for the postal matter received/kept in the post office and transmitting/managing the information for a process of the postal matter retransmitted from a user system(200). The user system receives the reception status of the postal matter from the operator system. |
