PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polymerized toner by which a very sharp particle size distribution, a very small amount of fine powder and easy design of a desired average particle diameter are ensured by a polymerization method, and in which a granulation step can be efficiently carried out. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a polymerized toner comprises a step of forming fine liquid droplets of a polymerizable monomer composition containing at least a polymerizable monomer and a colorant in an aqueous dispersion medium, and a step of polymerizing the polymerizable monomer composition after liquid droplet formation. In the step of forming fine liquid droplets, a method is adopted in which a dispersion containing the polymerizable monomer composition is charged into a dispersion supply tank of a stirring apparatus comprising a stirrer with a stirring blade or a rotor and the dispersion supply tank, the dispersion is then introduced into the stirrer and the dispersion discharged after stirring is returned into the dispersion supply tank and circulated at need in the step of forming fine liquid droplets, and the relation between the peripheral speed of the stirring blade or rotor of the stirrer and the frequency of circulation of the dispersion is controlled.
