PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving force switching mechanism capable of switching a free state and a lock state of a differential in a two-wheel drive vehicle and a four-wheel drive vehicle and of downsizing and reducing costs. SOLUTION: This driving force switching mechanism 50 is provided inside a final reduction gear 4, and equipped with the differential (differential mechanism) 20 that transmits rotation of a driving shaft 3 to a pair of wheels, a first rotating member 22 that is an output member of one wheel side of the differential 20, a second rotating member 32 that is arranged so as to enable relative rotation with the first rotating member 22 and that integrally rotates with one of the wheels, and a third rotating member 25A that integrally rotates with a case 25 of the differential 20 rotating in accordance with rotation of the driving shaft 3. In addition, this driving force switching mechanism 50 is provided with a switching member 41 capable of switching between a first position where connection of the first rotating member 22 and the second rotating member 32 is released, a second position where the first rotating member 22 and the second rotating member 32 are connected and a third position where the first rotating member 22, the second rotating member 32 and the third rotating member 25A are connected. Dog clutches 25A, 41A that are engaging elements of the third rotating member 25A and switching member 41 are arranged on end faces of each of the third rotating member 25A and switching member 41.
