PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fail-safe contact, easy to manufacture, efficient and economical, and which is sure to get non-conductive after it reaches the durable number of switching times within the pre-designed range, an electric contact material for the same, and a manufacturing method of these. SOLUTION: An insulating layer existing in and covered by a contact material, and letting itself out to make the contact material non-conductive when a contact face of the contact material wears off to reach end of useful years, is made of metal which is by nature a conductor. The metal is a conductor at first, but molded so as to be integrated with the contact material, and afterwards, is heated and oxidized, and at least a part of it makes up the above insulating layer.
