PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten reliability of regulation mechanism for regulating a wrong insertion operation of a terminal fitting. SOLUTION: A stabilizer 30 regulating a wrong plug-in operation by interfering with an open edge part at an entrance side of a cavity 42 is fitted at a side wall 14 of the terminal fitting 10, when the terminal fitting 10 is built in the cavity 42 forward side backward. The terminal fitting 10 is provided with a posture retention part 35 at a side wall 15 at a side opposing to the stabilizer 30. The posture retention part 35 comes in contact with an inner wall advancing into the cavity 42 when the terminal fitting 10 is mounted in a wrong posture. That is, the terminal fitting 10 is prevented from falling in the cavity. With this, reliability is improved since the amount of interferences between the stabilizer 30 and the open edge part is secured. Moreover, if the terminal fitting 10 is inserted into a correct posture, the posture retaining part 35 will not be a hindrance to a plug-in operation, since it is housed in a relief groove 46 at the side of the cavity 42.
