PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonograph equipped with a linear guide means which makes the moving stroke of the scan drive unit variable with a simple structure. SOLUTION: A female fitting part 48 is provided on the rear end side of the linear guide means 3 and a linear guide means 50 for extension is linked to the female fitting part 48. When the linear guide means 50 for extension is linked to the base linear guide means 3, a rack groove 51 is connected to a rack groove 41 and a guide groove 55 to a guide groove 45 to make lines of groove separately. The one end side of the lines of groove forms a male fitting part 56 to be linked to the female fitting part 48 while the other end side thereof forms a female fitting part 57 to further make the male fitting part 56 of the linear guide means 50 for extension linkable thereto.
