The device (1) for the airborne noise reduction of flow noises in pipe systems such as in turbochargers of internal combustion engines has a pipe connector (5) widened in diameter by suitable deformation and then upsetted in the axial direction so that a volume (2) open to the inside of the pipe is formed around the pipe. The length of the volume comes to at least 10mm, and the volume diameter is at least 10 per cent larger than the encompassing pipe diameter. The volume is connected to the inside of the pipe by an annular gap (4).
