<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a carbon monoxide converting catalyst which has high activity in low-temperature environment and by which a system can be made compact. <P>SOLUTION: This carbon monoxide converting catalyst is manufactured by mixing an aqueous solution of metals containing copper and zinc with an aqueous solution of a basic substance to coprecipitate copper with zinc. In the first example, a primary, secondary or tertiary amine, preferably the tertiary amine, is used as the basic substance. Trimethylamine is preferably used as the tertiary amine. In the second example, the aqueous solution of metals containing copper and zinc is mixed with the aqueous solution of the basic substance so that the ratio of the copper and zinc to the basic substance in the mixed liquid is kept almost constant during the mixing work to coprecipitate copper with zinc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
