<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering device giving no sense of incongruity to a driver when a current command value to be inputted is rapidly decreased. <P>SOLUTION: A controller C comprises a current command value characteristic storing part, a delay control characteristic storing part, an execution part, and a current command value maintaining part. The current command value characteristic storing part stores an actual current command value Ib based on a steering angle signal from a steering status detection sensor, and the delay control characteristic storing part stores a reference reduction rate Δa specifying a reference current command value Ia. The execution part calculates a reduction rate Δb per unit time of the current command value Ib, compares magnitudes of the calculated reduction rate Δb and the reference reduction rate Δa, outputs the actual current command value Ib at the time of Δa≥Δb, and outputs the reference current command value Ia based on the reference reduction rate Δa at the time of Δa<Δb.
