PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an I.I apparatus for easily performing degaussing through the use of a coil for correcting terrestrial magnetism. SOLUTION: A terrestrial magnetism sensor 12 outputs a detection signal corresponding to the strength of terrestrial magnetism. The I.I apparatus 2 outputs a DC or AC current to a correction coil 14 by changing-over the switch 33 of a control part 13. When the switch 33 is changed-over to a proportion circuit 31, the DC current in proportion to the terrestrial magnetism is supplied from the proportion circuit 31 to the correction coil 14, so as to correct the terrestrial magnetism. When the switch 33 is changed-over to an AC circuit 32, the AC current is supplied from the AC circuit 32 to the correction coil 14, so as to generate an alternation magnetic field. Then the strength of the alternation magnetic field is gradually reduced. Consequently, degaussing is performed in the peripheral member of the correction coil 14. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
