DISK RECORDING AND/OR PLAYBACK DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform recording/playback of a plurality of disk cartridges loaded in parallel without stacking in an optional order by using a single recording and/or playback means. SOLUTION: A disk recording and/or playback device is provided with: a rotary support base 85 on which an optical pickup device 83 is mounted to perform sequential recording/playback of the plurality of disk cartridges loaded in parallel and which is rotated by a rotary-driving mechanism 87; rotational position detecting means 142, 145 and 146 for detecting the rotational position of the rotary support base 85; and a system controller 244 for rotationally controlling the rotary support base 85 on the basis of the detection results of the rotational position detecting means. The system controller 244 makes the optical pickup device 83 sequentially face optional disk cartridges and records/reproduces an information signal by rotationally controlling the rotary support base 85.
