PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify mechanical structure, and to easily correspond when length of articles is changed. SOLUTION: An overhead conveyor 18 arranged over a carrying conveyor 14 for carrying a group of articles 12 with the predetermined intervals is provided with a first endless chain 32 rotated by a first motor 48 and a second endless chain 38 rotated by a second motor 50. Two first moving bodies 42 and 42 are arranged in the first endless chain 32, and two second moving bodies 46 and 46 are arranged in the second endless chain 38. The one pair of the moving bodies 46 and 42 positioned in rear of the group of articles 12 in relation to the other pair of moving bodies 42 and 46, which are stopped in the first stop position set in the downstream of a lower straight track part, are moved forward to reduce a distance between both the pairs of moving bodies to regulate position of a front end and a rear end of the group of articles 12 in the carrying direction for positional alignment.
