PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine cover having a large amount of collision energy absorption and high designability, and easy to form ports or the like. SOLUTION: The engine cover 1 comprises a cover body 4 for covering an engine side member 2 with an engine side engaging portion 20 arranged on its surface; a mounting seat 5 with a seat body 50 arranged on a back side of the cover body 4 and facing the engine side engaging portion 20 and a connection 51 connecting the seat body 50 to the cover body 4; and a cover side engaging portion 6 locked to the seat body 50 and engaged with the engine side engaging portion 20. The cover is characterized in that a compression space D is comparted between the cover side engaging portion 6 and a back of the cover body 4, which is compressed when collision load beyond a predetermined value is applied in a front-back direction of the cover body 4.
