PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an index value measuring device for living bodies which measures dimensions of a plurality of specific parts of a living body, computes these dimensions without errors, and displays an accurate index value. SOLUTION: The dimensions of transverse diameters of the heart and the thoracic cage are measured by a roller 5, and these dimensions are stored respectively in a storing part 31. The dimensions stored in the storing part 31 are computed by a computing part 32, and a cardiothoracic ratio is obtained. The cardiothoracic ratio is displayed on the display part 4.
