PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly move a seat backward at a time of a front collision of a vehicle, and to prevent backward movement of the seat in a case of a collision from the backside. SOLUTION: Lower rails 16a and 16b are arranged on a floor with the rails extended in the travelling direction of the vehicle. Upper rails 17a and 17b fixed to a seat cushion 13a are mounted to the lower rails longitudinally movably. The upper rails are provided with a locked member 21, and the lower rails are provided with a housing 22 facing the locked member. A locking tool 31 of which tip locks to the locked member 21 is disposed in the housing 22 while the tip projects immersably into the housing 22. This seat lock releasing device comprises a sliding piece 33 for inhibiting immersion of the locking tool at a first position 34 and allowing immersion of the locking tool at a second position, a driving means 32 for moving the sliding piece from the first position to the second position, a load sensor 35 for detecting a load acting on the seat, and a controller 39 for controlling the driving means based on the detected output of the load sensor.
