PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush for a rotary machine in which the lifetime of the brush is prolonged while protecting the brush against damage and the efficiency of a motor can be enhanced. SOLUTION: The brush for a rotary machine is constituted by forming a brush member 15 of a high resistance material for supplying power to a commutator 11, covering the outer circumference of the brush member 15 with a low resistance film 16 and then covering the outer circumference of the film 16 of a high resistance coating member 17. Since the area of the low resistance film can be increased, a sufficient current can be fed while being distributed and thereby the efficiency can be enhanced.
