PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-propelled soil improving machine that appropriately selects quality improving earth and sands to be used according to their particle size, and a sieve used for the machine. SOLUTION: In this self-propelled soil improving machine that produces quality improving soil by mixing earth and sands supplied to the machine with soil quality improving agents, a sieve body 10 is provided at the upper part of a hopper to receive the earth and sands supplied. The sieve body 10 is provided with a lower grid 11b consisting of a plurality of bar-like members 20b arranged at fixed intervals in the direction of the sieve body 10, and with an upper grid 11a placed on the lower grid 11b and consisting of a plurality of bar-like members 20a with large vertical dimensions arranged at fixed intervals in the direction perpendicular to the above-mentioned direction, so that the grid 11a can crush clods contained in the earth and sands supplied to the machine and collide crushed clods against the lower grid 11b.
