<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial carbonaceous substance in which a porous body such as a conventional antibacterial carbonaceous or inorganic material used for a filter or a material having catalytic properties is converted into a composite at a low cost, and its antibacterial activity is promoted by stabilizing antibacterial metals without their easy elution. <P>SOLUTION: This antibacterial carbonaceous substance is produced by coating a carbonaceous material with at least one antibacterial metal or carrying the latter on the former using a fine powder inorganic material, and then burning. As the antibacterial metal, an easily processible metal having antibacterial force is selected among silver, copper, zinc, tin, lead, magnesium, titanium or the like. Preferably, the carbonaceous material is prepared by mixing one or two or more selected from charcoal; active carbon; charcoals from Bichotan, bamboo, cocoshell, coffee bean, bran or the like; bean curd refuse, etc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
