<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst having excellent cleaning performance, the manufacturing cost of which is made low by restraining the increase in the usage of a noble metal and by which the harmful components such as HC, CO and NOx in the exhaust gas from a combustion engine can be removed at a high removal rate at the same time. <P>SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the exhaust gas cleaning catalyst comprises: a step of applying a wash coat to a carrier by using wash coating slurry in which ruthenium is mixed, dry and fire the carrier and, if necessary, deposit rhodium on the fired carrier; and a step of depositing platinum or palladium on the carrier obtained in the above step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
