<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin-film transistor (TFT) array substrate with which the number of mask processes can be reduced and a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device comprises the TFT array substrate which comprises a gate line formed on a substrate, a common line, a data line, a TFT, a common electrode formed in a pixel region and connected to the common line, a pixel electrode connected to the TFT to form the common electrode and horizontal electric field in the pixel region, a gate pad formed of at least one conductive layer included in the gate line, a data pad formed of at least one conductive layer included in the data line, a common pad formed of at least one conductive layer included in the common line, and a protective film exposing the gate pad, the data pad and the common pad, a color filter array substrate which is united to the TFT array substrate and is filled with a liquid crystal therebetween and the conductive film which is connected to the exposed pad of the TFT array substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
