PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a positioning system for finding a position of a mobile terminal that operates accurately in an urban environment, requires no cost for launching another satellite because it does not fully depend on a GPS satellite, and uses an improved satellite as a base. SOLUTION: The system is provided with a stationary server that stamps a time stamp to an auxiliary radio signal received from an auxiliary radio source such as a DBS satellite or the like according to a time reference led from a GPS. The mobile terminal also received the same auxiliary radio signal and stamps a time stamp to the signal according to a movement time reference. The mobile terminal acquires the time-stamped auxiliary signal received by the server, and it establishes correlation to find an offset of timing between the received two auxiliary signals.
