PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the presumed angular position initial value of a rotating detection object as quickly as possible with a value near an actual angle-of-rotation position. SOLUTION: The resolver digital conversion device samples the first analog resolver data which indicates with cosine the angle-of-rotation positionϕof a detection object from the resolver of 2 phase output type connected to the rotating detection object, and the second analog resolver data which sinusoidally indicate the angle-of-rotation positionϕof a detection object, and transforms them into the first digital resolver data and the second digital resolver data. While the first digital resolver data and the second digital resolver data are judged whether they are positive value, negative value, or zero value, they are compared with the size relation between the absolute value of the first digital resolver data and the absolute value of the second digital resolver data. Therefore, as for the angle-of-rotation positionϕ, judging it is included in any of 8 aliquoted angle range 360°, a presumed net angle initial value is established. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
