PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature measuring device for a brick inside a furnace which prevents the temperature of a temperature sensing element from lowering by the influence of a cold blast, and measures temperature precisely, when the temperature of a brick inside a furnace is measured. SOLUTION: The measuring device for the temperature of a brick inside a furnace measures the temperature of a temperature-measuring object, by forming an aperture in the brick 1 inside the furnace, and inserting the temperature sensing element 6 into the aperture. In the device, a cylindrical heat insulator 8 which surrounds the periphery of a temperature measuring part of the measuring object, and touches the measuring object at its tip, is fitted to the tip part of the element 6. Consequently, the part to be measured and the element 6 are prevented from being exposed to a cold blast, and precise temperature measurement can be performed. Accordingly, furnace operation supervision can be performed strictly. In the conventional air-heating furnace operation, a temperature lower than a real one is indicated, which means that a changeover of the air-heating furnace used to be performed at an earlier time, regardless of being able to supply a hot blast of a specified temperature, and that fuel more than necessary used to be used for heat storage.
