PARTICLE COMPATIBLE WITH LIQUID CRYSTAL, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DEVICE

<p>A liquid crystal device comprises a pair of parallel substrates, conductive films formed on the inner sides of the substrates facing one another, liquid-crystal aligning films formed with respective pretilt angles on the inner sides of the conductive films facing one another, and a liquid crystal layer formed between the pair of liquid-crystal aligning films. In the liquid crystal layer, particles compatible with the liquid crystal layer are dissolved or dispersed. Each particle is consisted of a core of a nanoparticle and its surrounding liquid crystal molecules or liquid-crystal like molecules. In order to vary the light transmittance of the liquid crystal layer the conductive film has a control circuit to apply voltage while modulating at least frequency or voltage.</p>
