<p>Compressed printing data from a host PC (27) is transferred to a data reception section (16) of a printer controller section (15), compressed printing data transfer section (21), and a compressed printing data storage section (25) and restored to bit map data by a data restoration/transfer section (22), after which the data is transferred to a bit map data storage section (26) and output as a video signal from a bit map data transfer section (23) to a printer engine (29). According to a printing state signal input from a bus (32) such as resolution, sheet size, engine section warm up state, frequently used state in the past, and transfer speed, a data storage capacity management section (24) appropriately reallocates the storage capacity of the two storage areas: the compressed printing data storage section (25) and the bit map data storage section (26).</p> |
