The safety sign (1) comprises an information panel (2) having one or several text and/or image elements on its front surface and a smoke alarm arranged on its rear side. The smoke alarm works based on an optical principle and gives a visual and/or acoustic warning. The alarm has an opening (14) for the optical sensor, e.g. lens, provided on the front panel (2), above which a push-button (15) for testing the smoke alarm function is also provided.
