AN APPARATUS FOR CLEANING OF A GAS

In an apparatus for cleaning of a gas a centrifugal rotor (5) is rotatable in a separation chamber (4) about a vertical rotational axis (R). The centrifugal rotor (5) is rotatable by means of a turbine wheel (20) arranged in a drive chamber (19) situated below the separation chamber (4). The centrifugal rotor (5) and the turbine wheel (20) are connected with each other by means of a shaft (6). The separation chamber (4) and the drive chamber (19) are separated from each other by two partitions (11, 12), through which the shaft (6) extends and which between themselves form a drainage chamber (23). A nozzle (21) is arranged to spray a liquid against the turbine wheel (20) in the drive chamber (19) for rotation thereof and of the centrifugal rotor (5). The drainage chamber (23) has an outlet (31) for draining of liquid having entered the drainage chamber from the drive chamber (19), so that liquid shall not be able to flow from the drive chamber (19) to the separation chamber (4).
