<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to purchase a necessary consumable article such as an ink cartridge in a vending machine without error. <P>SOLUTION: An ID card 20 is issued to the user. The model of a printer used by the user and the commodity name of the ink cartridge used for the printer or the like (model information) are recorded in the ID card 20. When this card is set in the card reader 13 of the vending machine 10, the model information is read by a model information reading means 21, and a confirmation picture 18 is displayed on a display 12.
