PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a loop suppressing system in a LAN which is capable of suppressing a loop in a LAN easily and reliably even if processing of a redundant protocol has a problem, and preventing the deterioration of the services of a common carrier. SOLUTION: The LAN consists of a core network 3 having PE switches 1, 2 and a core switch 4, the PE switches 1, 2 housing subscriber terminals A, B, respectively. The PE switches 1, 2 each add their own frames to a frame sent from a subscriber terminal which they themselves store, as a transfer destination address to constitute a new frame, and transfer the frame to a core network 3. When the PE switches 1, 2 and the core switch 4 each determine that the frame received via the core network 3 is the same as the frame which they have sent, they discard the frame.
