PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk storage deice capable of keeping a track interval constant during self-servo writing, and a servo writing method. SOLUTION: Regarding the servo writing method applied to the disk storage device for recording data in a disk recording medium by a head mounted with a reading element and writing element separated, in a self-servo writing step of recording positioning servo information used in head positioning control in the disk recording medium by the writing element, a track interval is measured, and a head offset amount is adjusted based on the measured track interval.
