PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PLM management method capable of managing a plurality of PLMs having the same library name and LM name while enabling the generation management of PLM. SOLUTION: A PLM management table 110 retains a generation management block group 120 for managing the generation of PLM in order to store one or more PLMs differed only in generation in a library backing store 130, and has a block tree structure including the generation management blocks. A generation registration means 102 forms, when a PLM registration is requested, a generation management block corresponding to a PLM of new generation and registers it in the PLM management table 110. A generation deletion means 202 dequeues, when a PLM deletion is requested, the generation management block of the end block retrieved by a deleting generation retrieval means 201 from the generation management block of the generation just before the end, and deletes the generation management block of the end block from the PLM management table 110.
