PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer system capable of displaying windows with varying resolution in overlay in a client area. SOLUTION: The display images of windows are stored in a standard frame memory and ultrahigh-definition images thereof are stored in an expansion frame memory. Further, a display image that sets a flag for designating overlay display is stored in the client area of the window images stored in the standard frame memory. A display control circuit reads the display images from the standard frame memory and the expansion frame memory and, if an overlay flag is set for the display images read from the standard frame memory, selects the ultrahigh-definition images read from the expansion frame memory for display on a display device.
