PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system which enables the recognition of the state of each electrical appliance by summarizing the operation states of remotely operable electrical appliances with a network connection function, and transmits control information for performing appropriate remote control to the electrical appliance, and also to provide a management device. SOLUTION: The data base 7 of a management server 2 stores state information 13 indicating the present operation state of the electrical appliance 4 and the control information 14 for remotely operating the electrical appliance 4. The information control part 10 of the management server 2 records the state information 13 of the electrical appliance 4 in the data base 7 at the time of receiving it from communication equipment 3, compares the control information 14 with the state information 13 recorded in the data base 7 and determines whether the electrical appliance 4 is in a remotely operable operation state at the time of receiving the control information 14 from a user terminal 5, and records the control information 14 in the data base 7 and transmits it to the communication equipment 3 when determining that the electrical appliance 4 is in the remotely operable operation state.
