PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temporary handrail for a scaffold, which is rame-shaped and which can be simply and reliably fitted to a scaffold. SOLUTION: A handrail body 3 is composed of movable locking units 4 mounted on both ends of the upper part, and a pair of locking units 5 mounted on upper and lower sides adjacent to both ends of the lower part, and it is characterised in that the movable locking bodies 4 are respectively composed of a movable locking unit body 40 for fixing the handrail body and a movable locking arm 43 inserted in the forward end of the body 40 to rotate in the vertical direction and fixing the upper end of a rotating shaft 41 lifted upward until a stop part 42 at the lower end thereof abuts on the movable locking unit body 40, and the paired locking units 5 are simultaneously locked on fitting members 6 mounted on a vertical frame 1, and then inserted in a locking hole 70 of a fitting member 7 mounted on the upper part of the vertical frame 1 while the lower end at the tip of the movable locking arm 43 is lifted upward around the rotating shaft 41.
