PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stably producing 7-tetradecen-2-one with small number of steps in high yield without using chromic acid. SOLUTION: 7-Tetradecen-2-one is produced from 6-bromo-1-hexene and 1-octyne. The production method comprises e.g. the 1st step to produce 1-tetradecen-7-yne from 6-bromo-1-hexene and 1-octyne, the 2nd step to produce 1,7-tetradecediene from 1-tetradecen-7-yne and the 3rd step to produce (Z)-7-tetradecen-2-one from 1,7-tetradecediene.
