A cyclic ether copolymer which is excellent in solvent solubility and can easily form thin films, that is, a cyclic ether copolymer which is prepared from a compound having a 1,3-dioxole ring structure as represented by the general formula (I) and an ethylenically unsaturated monomer and which is characterized by having a glass transition temperature of 100 to 135°C and an intrinsic viscosity of 0.01 to 0.5dl/g in perfluoro-2-butyltetrahydrofuran at 35°C: wherein R<1> and R<2> are each independently F, H, Cl, or C1-5 perfluoroalkyl; X<1> and X<2> are each independently F, H, Cl, or -OR<3>; and R<3> is C1-5 perfluoroalkyl, with the proviso that at least one of R<1> and R<2> is F or C1-5 perfluoroalkyl.
