<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display not only the present status of a printer but also the future or periodical serviceable/unserviceable state and its reason as the status of the printer and to display the reason for unserviceability when the printer is unserviceable. <P>SOLUTION: A printing system comprising an information apparatus such as a personal computer connected to the printer is provided with a status notifying means for notifying an information processor of the status of the printer, and a printer status display means presenting the status of the printer to a user.
